September Sum Up

September Sum Up

Hi everyone, Busy and tiering are 2 words I would use to describe September. I think this relates to a lot of people who read my blog, especially during current times when even the smallest jobs cause a lot of stress. Coming back home, new environments and new learning ways have all been a part of my September and have caused many hiccups on the way, but still remaining positive for October, as my favourite holiday is coming up 😉 For the first half of September, I was still in Poland, visiting family, but spending this time to say goodbye and make some final memories, as I don’t know when I will see them again. As mentioned before I refurbished my nans kitchen (which you can see on my Instagram blog) and took some time to see the town and catch up with old friends. At the end of my time, I had an anxiety build-up of course over my flight back home, it was not the prefect flight but it was safe enough to get me home and calm my anxiety. A few bumps, but that’s normal I guess! ss As I got back home, the covid situation in my areas has become worse and worse over time, with the UK coming up to about 4,000 infections a day. This means, more lockdown restrictions and more not being able to do things and see people etc. It just makes me wonder if we are going to just keep doing the same over again, you know? Restrictions, cases go down, lifting restrictions, cases go up kind of thing? I hope not because I have a graduation to attend next year! and obviously this is ruining other life plans and moments for me and others that it would be helpful if people could just listen to the rules, please? They are not that hard! But before the restrictions, I was able to get myself to Ikea, with the help of 2 cars and my boyfriend and his dad, my personal movers 😛 I needed new bedroom furniture and fast! since we have moved to my new house in March I have been living out of boxes and on a single mattress which is not ideal for Dawid when he stays with me or for a girl like me with a lot of clothes. So I finally got to have my dream bedroom and have it just the way I like it, and I absolutely love it, I could be here all the time, which is likely as my semester is all online. I love how clean and crisp it looks, a place to relax and calm down after a busy day of zoom meetings and dog walks. Here is an image for reference, but again you can see more of it on my Instagram blog. sss And finally, on the last part of my stressful September, I started my final year at university. It has been a lot, like hit me with a ton of bricks a lot, they don’t prepare you enough for how hard year 3 will be in the first 2 years but I guess that might seem this way because everything is through zoom this semester for me. I get up at 9am, do work and go to bed at 11pm, this has been my state for the current 2 weeks and I still feel like I am behind! And do not even talk to me about dissertations, such a muddle in my head! I guess it’s just a concept of time and getting used to but there is a lot of hard work and it is definitely going to be different this year, so if I do disappear at some point, just know I am drowning in books and references. I am having to buy monitors to read all my books because they are all online, and my 14 inch screen is not enough for 4 books and Word to be open on it all at the same time. I have found more confidence to speak in my lessons compared to in real life, maybe the screen acts like protection? I’m not sure but there are definitely drawbacks and some positives, I just have to wait and see them emerge time by time. s I hope you have enjoyed this September sum up, let me know how your September has been, maybe it was better than mine, or just as odd and stressful as mine, but always remember, in this moment we are okay and we can push past anything, zoom is the last of our worries right now. Why Fall Is The Best Season

Why Fall Is The Best Season

As we approach some of the final hot days here in the UK, the next season is soon to come, and as I like to say, the best season of all! Today I wanted to talk about the seasons of the year, which are my favourite and why. Just a more of a general relaxed post before I go into stressed mode for the next semester of university. Also, something calm to discuss as all of our lives are, I am assuming, very hectic still due to the pandemic.

Obviously, everyone has their own favourite season and their reasonings why but we all know that when fall hits, its a really big thing. It’s something people look forward too as we get the nice cosy nights, hot drinks and chilly walks, its something that shows change and a new chapter for some. And for some its rain, awful weather and they hate it altogether. But for me, fall has a special place in my heart for many reasons.

Firstly, it’s not hot. I HATE WHEN ITS HOT!, especially in the UK. Heat in the UK is just generally uncomfortable, it’s not like an enjoyable heat like you get when you go on holiday to Spain or Greece, its more like “omg its so hot I can’t breath” rather than “omg it’s so hot I’m going to get a tan and drink cocktails by the pool” kind of thing. Also, I hate summer clothes in comparison to fall clothes, which is an odd thing to say for someone my age who the stereotype is that girls love summer and showing off their bodies and having a good time. No. I hate wearing shorts because they always roll up, dresses give me thigh burn and I don’t feel like sweating buckets and it being able to show on my thin t-shirt. So I don’t like the clothes and I don’t like the heat, I also hate the people, the typical summer people. Somehow people seem to get bird brain when summer hits for some reason, I don’t know if this is just here or in other countries too. It just seems like because there is an extra few degrees outside that people can drive like idiots, catcall and ignore the law generally. This angers me because its such a stupid reasoning and leads to just so many accidents and unnecessary events its silly. Okay, I think I am done ranting about summer now.

Now on to lovely fall. I am fully in my element when the middle of September hits, I like skinny jeans, oversized jumpers, scarfs and a hot drink. That is my ideal going-out outfit (which I can’t wear during summer, another reason I hate it) and its just something I feel so much more comfortable in. Also, all the best things happen during fall! We get fireworks night, Halloween (which I am a huge fan of) and then when we hit winter we get Christmas, like why would you not like fall? I am just generally a big fan of fall walks and taking photos during fall too, I feel everything just looks so much more beautiful and calm, like a time where you can just relax. Also, I love staying in (again odd for my age) and during fall this is just so much better; rain outside the window, candles lit, in bed wrapped in a blanket watching Nightmare Before Christmas for the 10000000 time with my boyfriend, what’s not to love? Below are some photos I took a few days ago when we went on our first fall walk, just look how amazing it is!

Now when we get to winter, I love winter too! mainly because I am a winter baby but also because I like Christmas and again I like it when it’s cold outside for all the reasons above too. I love snow, although very rarely do we get it in the UK, I love seeing it glisten and how happy everyone gets when they see it, it’s almost magical, whereas there is nothing magical about heat, its just annoying. I also like the Christmas fair, whether it is the one in Bournemouth or Birmingham, I love going and just having this experience once a year, just a time of enjoyment and a nice way to start wrapping up the year, which can’t come soon enough this year as gosh it been awful! The Christmas market is a small tradition I have with my best friend, that we go, eat a Christmas dinner and Wetherspoons (English pub) and ice skate, so again another event to look forward to during the cold season. Christmas is not my favourite, very oversold to me, but I like to enjoy it if I can, I like a little peaceful time with family and some good food, so gifts and obviously, dressing up my dogs.

Now I know I have been a bit out fo order this post, but now we can talk about spring. I see it as an okay season, I mean nothing special really happens in spring for me, but I also enjoy it as it is still a coolish season weather-wise. I like seeing all the trees and plants start to bloom again, it is enjoyable and still a nice season to go out and do something dressed up warm, but then the weird weather starts of half cold and half hot and then summer comes so its not my favourite!

I hope you have enjoyed this little odd post, again something calmer for the brain and gets you thinking, what is your favourite season? and why? everyone is different and has different preferences which is okay, I just really hate summer 🙂 maybe you can change my mind! Until next time,

Love, Kasia x

August Sum Up

August Sum Up

Hi guys,

A more exciting month in comparison to July, a lot more travelling, seeing people and obviously a lot more hand sanitizer than I am used to. If you have kept up with the last sum up and my Instagram page for the month of August, you will know that I was in Poland visiting family and just going for a general holiday, because you know, every other country is practically off-limits, so there is no safer place than with family.

For the first 2 weeks of August, I was at home alone as the way of travel in my home this summer turned out oddly. My parents first went to Poland, then they came back on the 14th, and then I flew out on the 15th and have just come back on the 12th of September. So nearly 6 weeks of not seeing them, I am glad to be back home.

Obviously, as you have probably guessed, I had to fly to get to Poland, which is a big issue for me as I am terrified of flying, so the 2 weeks while I was alone were absolute torture to say the least. I don’t think I have ever watched so many plane videos on Youtube in my life, and by the time I had to fly, I felt ready and calm. With these feelings, I, to an extent, enjoyed the flight and landed safely, with the enjoyment of seeing friends and family in mind. I will say, I have also never seen so much military at the airport before, and even more so have them check my temperature! There were a lot of checks and the whole things took longer than usual which meant spending more time at the airport, not my favourite, but had to be done. They also made us board the lane like 45 minutes early which is odd but they must have their reasonings I suppose.

Once we got home, I knew that this holiday will be great. See, my boyfriend lives in the countryside in Poland so when we go there its just 3 houses and forest. That’s it. So I have time for thinking and to gather some peace in this crazy life. I also like seeing his family as we don’t see them often and its nice to catch up, he also has a cousin our age and a long time friend, so the 4 of us always have lots of fun every summer, it’s like a time to just be kids again (considering were all 20!)

We usually split the time half and half, so we have 2 weeks at his family’s home and then we spend 2 weeks with my grandparents, who live in Lodz, 2 hours away. While we were there we renovated my grandmother’s kitchen, which was exciting for her as this was the final room in her flat to refresh and exciting for us as this would be our first renovation together, we got to see how well we work together and what it will be like when one day we live together. When it was finished it looked amazing and we were all so pleased with it! I have added a picture below but you can find more on my Instagram. After the renovation was done, we found some time to go out and spend time with my grandparents, but not any other family members on my side really as COVID is a bit scary in Lodz at the moment so we stayed local with family. We also found some time for a sneaky date night in the city, which is always welcomed as alone time is key.

And before we knew it, it was time to go home, we made our way back to my boyfriend’s home as we were flying out from the local airport there, had one last drink with friends and family and were off on our flight the next day, although not as great as the first flight with some turbulence, I got through it and we made it home and now I’m here! Writing this post!

And that’s August wrapped up, nothing extreme, just a causal little holiday, as much as I would want to take more this year it is mostly impossible! We have Egypt booked for December but I am not very confident that will happen either, but we will see! Also, I know this post is late as we are halfway through September now but I only came back a few days ago and needed some time to get it together and back into my old rhythm again, rhythm including new university year, scary!

Bournemouth: July 2020

Bournemouth: July 2020

From this photo essay, I wanted to show you some of the photos I took in the place where I study and to really express to you how beautiful the surrounding areas are. I and my boyfriends family decided to go on a mini-holiday all the way back in July due to the hot weather then, and since I have not been back there since March when I moved out due to Coronavirus.

We took a little trip almost every day and the sights were beautiful. I hope you enjoy this photo story, as I plan on doing another one once I am back from Poland.

First day at the beach:

We got to Bournemouth at a late Thursday afternoon, and as soon as we got there I wanted to show my boyfriends family where I love to be, the beach! We took a little trip, had icecream and sat for a while and decided to start planning the upcoming trips for the week as you can see we took below.

More beach:

When my boyfriend’s dad finally joined us in the second car soon after we arrived, on the second and third day we decided to have a few sun full beach days. Safe to say I have enough sand, saltwater and sun for a while as I was burnt like a crisp as seen below and had sand everywhere. But I still enjoyed the relaxing time and some time in the water.

Sun Burn Hell:

After the beach days, we took a trip to a small pier for some food and drinks, and while getting ready I was in utter pain and looked like a pure red tomato, I guess that’s the lesson I learn when I don’t use sunscreen properly! It cooled down after a few days but now I permanently carry sun protection like it’s my bible.

Birthday:

During our travels, we stopped to celebrate my boyfriends moms birthday, we surprised her with some flowers and a cake and she was very happy. That day we just enjoyed some calm walks along the beach and some good food.

Durdle Door:

A longer trip all the way to Durdle Door was definitely worth it, it was about an hour away and required a lot of downhill uphill walking but it was defiantly worth it for the pictures and views. Sitting down by the door on some rocks, hearing the waves crash was definitely relaxing as always.

Hengistbury Head:

Another long trip, that we liked so much we went multiple times, again beautiful views and beach and a nice place to relax, and beautiful photos come from this trip too obviously!

Let me know what you think down below, I really enjoyed seeing my little city, until the next academic year 2021.
